And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

The Sovereignty of God in Salvation

There is much confusion regarding the sovereignty of God in salvation, also known as predestination or divine election. This is undoubtedly a very controversial issue that evokes a great deal of emotion in people. The prayer is that this statement will bring some clarity to the issue. The Sovereignty of God in Salvation As we look at this issue, we must go to the Word of God. The Bible clearly says that God is sovereign in all things. “Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases” (Psalm 115:3). “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper

Statement on Divorce and Remarriage

Divorce God hates divorce. He hates it because it always involves unfaithfulness to the solemn covenant of marriage that two partners have entered into before Him, and because it brings harmful consequences to those partners and to their children (Mal. 2:14-16). Divorce in scripture is permitted only because of man’s sin. Since divorce is only a concession to man’s sin and is not a part of God’s original plan for marriage, all believers should hate divorce as God does and pursue it only when there is no other recourse. In Matthew 19:3-9, Christ teaches that divorce is an accommodation

The Gift of Tongues

In the Bible, the gift of tongues was a supernatural ability to speak in a language that had not been learned by the one speaking it. As we look at tongues, two issues stand out. First, if tongues are to be practiced today, how are they to be done in a way that is Biblical and honoring to God? The Bible outlines a few details for us. First, Biblical tongues were not gibberish but as is clear in the original language, tongues were real languages. The miracle of tongues was not that someone would be able to babble, but

Baptism

From the opening pages of the New Testament, the Christian is confronted with the concept of baptism. Whether you read the record of the early church in the book of Acts or the teaching of the epistles, it is evident that baptism is very significant. Our Lord Jesus Christ clearly told His disciples to baptize “in the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit,” and yet this simple act of obedience has always had much controversy surrounding it. We hope this brief statement will be helpful in answering questions you may have and help you gain

Heaven

How can I get to Heaven? Heaven is the place of unspeakable joy in the presence of God and His people forever. Heaven is the place where there will no longer be any tears, death, mourning, crying, sin or pain. On the other hand, hell is the place of eternal torment where there will be eternal weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. The Bible tells us that every person who has ever lived will end up in one of these two places. The question of the hour is: how can I get to heaven? Many people have their own
